MAS Rebrand
Stage 2 - Consulation Paper & Survey Voting on New Logo & Motto
After three months of consultation, Meningie Area School’s rebrand process has progressed to the voting stage.
Three logo and three motto concepts have been developed – and voting is now open to students, staff, families and the community.
Importantly, the rebrand also includes new vision and mission statements, as well as new values. These are currently being finalised in consultation with staff, Governing Council and our student leaders.
Four graphic elements inspired by Ngarrindjeri traditional art are also in development, and we anticipate using these to complement the new logo on items such as signage, uniforms, stationery and our digital assets.
Please take the time to read the consultation paper, which includes the logo and motto concepts, as well as the new vision, mission and values and draft Ngarrindjeri visual elements. You can find it here: https://bit.ly/MASRebrandPaper.
Once you’ve read the consultation paper, we encourage you to have your say and vote for your favourite logo and motto though the link at the end of the paper.
Voting closes on Friday, 7 July. We will consider all voting and feedback when deciding on the final logo and motto.
Stage 1 - Consultation & FAQ
Meningie Area School rebrand project
In 2023, Meningie Area School is reviewing its purpose, values, motto and logo to reflect our changing approach to education.
In doing so, we’re aiming to create a new visual brand and guiding vision to reflect our school’s history and cultural background. We also want the rebrand to incorporate a more aspirational message about our future as a school that serves the needs and goals of the wider Meningie community.
Our school is at the heart of our district’s community, and so we want your help and input to create the new brand and vision. We’re asking for feedback from our key stakeholders to assist us on this journey.
Between March and June 2023, the school – and our brand consulting partner Commshake Media + Engagement – will be contacting our key stakeholder groups to hear what they believe are the key themes and assets which need to be incorporated into our new brand. So whether you’re a student, staff member, parent, caregiver, Ngarrindjeri leader, business owner, past student or community member – we’re want your feedback.
We’ve outlined more details in the FAQs below.
You can find and fill out the online survey here
We’ll also have hard copies available for people who prefer a paper version. You can pick one up at these locations: · Meningie Area School front office
· Meningie Post Office
· Meningie Community Library
· Coorong District Council (Meningie Office)
· Raukkan Aboriginal School.
Once you’ve filled out a paper version, return it and put it in the box provided (these will only be accessed by our consultants to ensure confidentiality for participants).
This survey should only take you between 5-10 minutes, and you’ll have the chance to opt-in to be involved in the project consultation as it progresses.
We’re excited to see where this new phase takes Meningie Area School into the future.
FAQs
Q: Will I need to buy a new uniform next year?
A: No. The brand will launch in the 2024 school year. If there’s a change to the uniform, this can be phased in gradually over the first 2-3 years, so current students can continue to wear their existing uniform.
Q: Are you consulting with the local Ngarrindjeri community on the brand?
A: Yes. Our consultants will meet with the school’s Aboriginal Education Team, and will work with the Raukkan Aboriginal School students, teachers and wider community.
Q: Are you collecting my personal information through the survey?
A: No. The survey is anonymous. There are few important pieces of information we need from survey participants, such as age, interests, cultural heritage and postcode – but the remainder is non-specific. There is an option to leave your contact details for future updates as the project progresses, but this information is only used by our consultants to send project updates – and is not passed onto the school.
Q: What will the new brand include?
A: A new logo and graphic elements will form part of the rebrand that will soon be used for signage and all elements of branding for the school. We will also have a new motto developed, with a Ngarrindjeri translation as well. Importantly, we’ll be creating a new purpose, vision and values statement, which sets the future direction for Meningie Area School based on what students, staff, families and the wider community want to see for our school.
Q: Who can I talk to for more information?
A: Anyone who wants more details on the project can talk to our Principal Fiona Haselgrove by phoning (08) 8575 1106 or email Fiona.Haselgrove277@schools.sa.edu.au, or contact Communications Officer Emma Swan on email at emma.swan773@schools.sa.edu.au.
