Extra - Curricular Sports
The school is involved in a variety of sports through SAPSASA and SSSSA. Meningie Area School is part of the Murray Mallee SAPSASA district along with Coonalpyn, Coomandook, East Murray, Geranium, Karoonda, Lameroo, and Pinaroo schools. In SSSSA we are part of the Upper South East zone with Coomandook, Karoonda, Keith and Tintinara Area Schools.

South Australian Primary Schools Amature Sports Associations
Swimming: Primary students age 10 years - 13 years are chosen from our school and interschool swimming results to attend tryouts at Lameroo for the District swimming team. Successful students then travel to Adelaide to compete at the Aquatics Centre as part of the Country Championships.
Athletics: Primary students age 10 years - 13 years are chosen from our school and interschool athletics results to attend tryouts at Lameroo for the District athletics team. Successful students then travel to Adelaide to compete at SANTOS Stadium as part of the Country Championships.
Softball: Students from year 6 & 7 are encouraged to nominate and tryout for selection in the District softball team which participates in a one week carnival at West Beach during term 1. Tryouts and practices are held at Geranium Primary School.
Football: Students from year 6 & 7 are encouraged to nominate and tryout for selection in the District football team which participates in a one week carnival at West Beach or Victoria Park during term 2. Tryouts and practices are held at the Peake football oval.
Netball: Students from year 6 & 7 are encouraged to nominate and tryout for selection in the District netball team which participates in a one week carnival at ETSA Park during term 2. Tryouts and practices are held at the Peake netball courts.
Cricket: Students from year 6 & 7 are encouraged to nominate and tryout for selection in the District softball team which participates in a one week carnival at West Beach during term 4. Tryouts and practices are held at the Peake football oval.
Cross Country: Primary students age 10 years - 13 years are chosen from our school to participate in a combined Upper South East Cross Country event. Performances at this event are the basis for team selections in the combined SAPSASA and SSSSA State Cross Country event held in adelaide during term 2. The 2008 event was successfully held at Meningie with students having the opportunity to run along the dry lake bed of Lake Albert.

Secondary School Sports South Australia
Swimming: Secondary students aged from 13 years are chosen from the interschool swimming results to participate as part of the Upper South East (USE) swimming team. Successful students travel to Adelaide to compete at the Aquatics Centre as part of the D grade competition.
Athletics: Secondary students aged from 13 years are chosen from the interschool athletic results to participate as part of the Upper South East (USE) athletic team. Successful students travel to Adelaide to compete at SANTOS Stadium as part of the C grade competition.
